Prayers to Scottie P

Just like that, the first casualty of the war on managers, is Scott Parker. After a 1-0-3 start to the season Bournemouth has pulled the plug. Perhaps it was a little premature, if it was based on results. They started the season off against Aston Villa, then had three weeks in a row against: Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool. As I said, IF it was due to results that is harsh. However, the belief is that it was due to his comments about the quality of his squad and activity in the transfer window.

You can understand both sides of this. Scotty wants to be backed, when you come up from the Championship you need to add quality. Very rarely does a club come up, use the same starting XI, and succeed. What better way to be backed than bad mouth your club board at press conferences. It is an interesting strategy, I kind of respect it. At least he will have time on his hands to put together some new outfits. Maybe, he can open a new clothing brand or something. Considering he has a relegation on his record and now this, it is not looking bright for him. With 52 matches in charge in the Premier League, he has a record of 9-13-30, good enough for 0.77 points per match. Gross.

On the other side of this, you have the club and the players. They want to believe they have quality, and they want to spend smart. However, they have only spent £23 million so far, only Leicester have spent less. When you look across the table and you have the likes of Nottingham Forest splashing the cash the way they are, at some point you have to start pulling out your own wallet. Granted, Bournemouth is a smaller club, but they were in the Premier League for 5 years under the master manager, Eddie Howe. (No bias here.) They were able to stay up, spend well, and get that big paycheck at the end of each season to continue growing. I guess if you are looking to pick up a £100 million paycheck and scurry on back to the championship you are well on your way. I have already made it clear; Bournemouth will be 20th. Change my mind.

Hot take here, I believe the replacement could be Sean Dyche. He was linked with Stoke recently, so he is obviously looking at jobs, and long balls and defense are his specialty, this team is set up for that style.
